[ Vash straightens up to squish Wolfwood's face by the cheeks, both hands. Idiot sandwich. ]

[ Now he makes a different face, pinched and unhappy. He's never known anyone who can read him that well, even worse in times when he's trying not to feel. ]

It's 'cause you got all, stiffened up and shit -- I figured I asked a bad question.

[piteous]

[ Squish squish. ]

You didn't... Sorry. [ Genuinely apologetic. He lets go of Wolfwood's face. ] It was reflex.

[ Vash prepared for the worst and, while he thinks he can hide when his defenses come up, he's aware that it's difficult to do that when Wolfwood is not only intuitive... He was right against him. ]

You're still a dumbass.

[ HELPFULLY, as a reminder. Shoving his hand back at him and going in to reclaim his position using Vash as a lean-to, thanks. Stubbornly.

Vash can push him away all he likes if it's how he really felt, but Wolfwood is making a point in that he won't stand for it if it's because Vash thinks it's what's good for him. He's an adult, damn. He can make his own choices. ]

[ He laughs a bit, taking it in stride, and lets Wolfwood lean against him... There was no intention of pushing him away, no. Just nerves and worry he'll close him off, which he knows isn't going to happen. It's something to get used to, a little bit more permanently now that they're outside of MURDER GAMES. ]

Well, I'm your dumbass. [ Leaning back against him, he clings onto his arm more securely now that both hands are unoccupied. ] ... Thanks.

That's what I thought.

[ He will accept this. For now, bitch. He lets it get quiet for a moment. ]

[ Ultimately, right? The world, and its peaceful status now, is thanks to Vash gaining control over said powers. ]

[ There's a slow blink as he tries to warm himself using Wolfwood... Oh, he wasn't expecting that. It settles, then sinks, and hits him harder than he thought it would. Despite whatever good he has done, his public image is far from favorable and positive. He's fine with that, accepted it, not needing any acknowledgement in return.

... But being blatantly appreciated is nice, too, and he hugs Wolfwood's arm a little tighter. His chest tightens, tears threatening to form, damn. ]

You should praise and compliment me more often.

You still owe me what you promised for bein' nice, first.

[ Pointedly, not letting him forget this. He adjusts only slightly to minutely change the angle of him leaning his weight on Vash, content to ignore the teariness and hang out here on the bench for a little bit longer. ]

[ He's no longer teary! He decides to be annoying, instead.

In a whisper as he lowers his head, but purposely audible: ]

[ Announcing: ]

You trust me with your money and you don't expect me to be stingy?

[ In a long, whining drawl as he slouches and sinks down onto the bench, still clinging onto Wolfwood's arm.

He instantly sits straight up when he sees a shooting star in the dark sky, though. Turning to him with a smile, he points to where it disappeared. ]

Up for making a wish?

Alright, noted. Usin' your money to grab some nice drinks next time.

[ Two can play at being annoying. He glances up when Vash points, raising a brow... ]

'Kay. Made.

[piteous]

Huh—[ First of all, he hasn't given you all his money yet. Second... ]

That fast?!

[crucifer]

What, they never told you gotta make 'em fast before the star disappears?

Better catch up.

[ GET GOOD IDIOD ]

[ QUIETLY LETS GO OF HIS ARM SO HE CAN SLAM HIS PALMS TOGETHER IN PRAYER, HEAD LOWERED AND EVERYTHING

TO WISH ON THIS STAR ]

[ Sits up straighter on the bench, or at least off of Vash so he can make his little wish-prayer, snerking at him but letting him make it in peace. ]

[ It takes another moment before his hands lower, only for one hand to come for Wolfwood's opposite shoulder to pull him in. They bonk heads lightly... This is definitely a side-hug. ]

You having fun there?

[crucifer]

[ Boink. ]

Feels like I should be askin' you that, putting your whole heart and soul into it.

[ Making up for being late, are we. He allows this little moment, even though he foresees they'll have a lot more of it for at least a little while, more that they'll certainly fight for. ]

[piteous]

[ Is Wolfwood okay with a nuzzle frenzy? Because Vash does nuzzle him something fierce with some laughs in between, coming closer to fight off the cold. Why did he not pick up his coat? He's COLD. ]

Can you blame me? I want it to come true!

[crucifer]

[ He is. He barks out a laugh at the sudden attack, playfully fending him off but also not really. ]

Too bad I can't ask what it is, it'd defeat the whole purpose and all.

[ Resting his arm over Vash's shoulders... rubbing his shoulder. You chilly little stickbug. ]

Wanna start headin' back? Or is there more you wanted to look at.

[piteous]

It's something you can guess.

[ It isn't a hard guess, either. Vash is a little chilly. His fleshy parts are warm, though not that warm, then his metal bits are... Cold. For obvious reasons. He slots himself right beside Wolfwood, letting that arm wrap over his shoulder like an ineffective blanket. ]

Unless you want to pick up alcohol, I have nothing else for us! We can head back. [ Burying himself into Wolfwood's clothes, he says softly, mostly because he's pressed in. ] It was nice to see the stars.

[ It made him very happy. This whole day has been nice. ]

It'd ruin it if I knew what it was.

[ Yeah, he can guess, and even if he had all the insecurity or self-loathing in the world in the moment, he'd still be certain he'd know. But a bitch won't because that'd defeat the whole purpose of wishing on stars and whatever. He rubs small circles into Vash's shoulder, still a little afraid of the whole thing -- being permitted this, but he holds it like delicate glass.

He debates whether he wants to drink tonight. He doesn't feel a hankering but he doesn't feel against it if Vash isn't. Hmm. ]

You feel like havin' a drink? I could go either way. You napped your ass off so I dunno if you're feelin' like going to bed anytime soon.

[ Vash is a little self-conscious in how clingy he'a being, but he's giving himself a day pass. He had lived weeks after Wolfwood's death, went to a murdergame to experience his death again along with others he had to interact with closely for two months, then return home where he isn't sure the state of things... Or what may happen—if they're ever going to see each other.

The shoulder rub is accepted as he rests his head on Wolfwood's, comfortable even though this man is just mostly muscle. ]

You were napping, too. [ Maybe not napping his ass off, but Vash still wants to point out he napped because Wolfwood wanted to nap. ] We can pick up something to have for tomorrow night? I'm fine with just... Cuddling.

[ Awkward to just say aloud in seriousness. ]

... I do have to wake up early for my shift.

[ Sorry his body is rock hard, he will try to be a little softer for you. ]

M'kay. [ Just steamrolls right over his awkwardness. ] Guess we can play a bit of catch-up until we're tired.

[ What Vash'd been doing since the Earth fleets arrived, what zany mini-adventures Wolfwood's been up to in his mini-journey to find him, etc. Just little incidents and objective world updates. Get up you big slug, we're heading back. ]
