[ Vash rolls to his tip toes and cranes his neck, searching for anyone here. There are a couple of little scientists and engineers, so he waves one over. They greet him with a sigh, then asks if Vash plans to only stick around for a couple of days.

With a little nervous laugh, he answers they're here for a bit (nebulous), but then inquires if they'd let Wolfwood ride his motorcycle back down on the earth. With a thumbs up, they bring out a dispatch ship to drop them off onto the sand. They get a little skipper and here we are, of course with a chaperone because Vash can't drive anything for his life.

Back on No Man's Land across the sea of sand. He's going to watch while leaning againt the little docked spaceship! Have fun. ]

[ Wolfwood is also curious, but he was operating under the assumption it'd just be a few days. Maybe a week. He doesn't really know, he supposed they would leave whenever they felt like hitting the road and seeing something else. Man, what a clingy family Vash's got.

Not that Wolfwood thinks that's a bad thing.

He waves at the engineer in thanks as they're led down. Yippeeeee. He's not going to go... too far, just giving her a ride down the dune-bordering road for a little bit, checking the feel and if nothing else, feeling the wind in his hair again.

He disappears in the horizon amidst the rock formations. ]

[ And Wolfwood's left Vash with their chaperone and their questions... They're mostly about what he has been doing, if he's going to come back and settle here considering the only threats are barely threats to the colony now, if he's going to clear his bounty because he's obviously being wronged, and what's between him and that priest guy?

He doesn't mind answering them, but he also? Doesn't have an answer for some of these questions??? Wolfwood can keep driving around though. Vash doesn't mind suffering curiousity as he joyrides. ]

[ He'll come back after like 5 minutes. He's a little dusty but that just kind of naturally happens in this planetary terrain. He'll arrive and stop the bike -- it's not like one joyride has left him giddy to the gills, but he does seem quite satisfied with the function. Not a single awkward tinkering noise to be heard, the handles and pedals both smooth as butter. Shit, maybe he will buy the engineers a drink after all. ]

Hey, Wolfwood! We're just talking about stuff.

[ Their chaperone waves at Wolfwood when he approaches and out of nowhere warns him to not break their microwaves. Some of them were updated but none of the engineers wrote down the changes to them, so it's difficult to fix them.

Also, going to ask how's the motorcycle? There's always some curiosity to know how they can better machinery. ]

"Stuff".

[ Just looks at him and stares blankly like why would he ever break a microwave but okay, message heard loud and clear. He nods and answers that it's running real well, like she's new but not so much that it feels foreign. Good work. ]

Yeah. Was catching up with stuff since I left. Joseph and Marin are getting married!

[ In which the mechanic will mention the wedding won't be anytime soon... Joseph is a perfectionist, so it may take a while. The answer on the bike gets a thumbs up. They mention that if anything feels off, feel free to tell them. Or to use their workshop, they trust him because he's with Vash. ]

Do you want to drive some more laps?

[ Vash has shrunk suddenly. ]

Huh, congrats to ya.

[ Well it's sweet that he is really thinking on this wedding and will accept nothing less than perfect, apparently. May their wedding be a blast. He doesn't know if he and Vash will be around whenever it happens but maybe if they're nearby and they get an invite. ]

I can only ride around in so many circles 'round the ship before I get sick. The real test would be drivin' over to the next town, but I ain't doing that right now unless you guys got a grocery list you want me to grab.

[ Technically, you're right, because trimax Vash is shorter. The engineer says thank you! Then thinks about it... While they don't want to bother to two of them after they got home, they did want some tablecloths from a nearby town. It's not that far from here where the two of them would need to spend the night. It'd be a day trip at most...

But they also said they don't mind taking one of the air shuttles. Vash pipes up. ]

[ Decides for Wolfwood. ]

[ ROLLS HIS EYES... not that he would say no to taking the bike for a spin over the air shuttle but he didn't expect it to literally happen RIGHT NOW. ]

You just volunteerin' me?

[ OR ARE YOU JUST PRESUMING YOU'RE GOING TO GET A FREE RIDE TOO? ]

[ The engineer gives them both a solid thanks before giving Vash the money to pay for the tablecloths. He pockets it before coming over to Angelina and Wolfwood.

FREE RIDE!!! Despite how he called Wolfwood's motorcycle his girlfriend, he's find to third wheel??? ]

[ DON'T CALL ANGELINA IS GIRLFRIEND!! He already has the Punisher on top of all that. He raises his brows though like the sidecar isn't attached, you gonna just stick right behind him this whole ride? ]

[ He deserved that... So he won't tell Wolfwood to be nice to him and fix his potty mouth.

To the raised eyebrows, he just smiles at him? ]

[ EYEROLL. But fine, hang on tight because he's just going to rev this bike and we will now start riding down the road...

Whee... feel the wind in your hair. Wolfwood doesn't offer much chatter but it's really just because it's hard to talk on a motorcycle, it's very loud. It has been a long time since they last rode Angelina together. ]

[ He's basically taking advantage of hugging Wolfwood... This is nice and there are no complaints because of how difficult it is to talk when there's so much wind blasting your face.

He rests his head on Wolfwood shoulder, burying his face in, and enjoys the ride until they get to stop... And still clings onto him because he's clingy. ]

[ It'll be a good amount of time until they get to that stop. An hour or two probably, YOU SAID DAY TRIP? That seems about right to me. It's going to go from warm to too-warm real quick with the desert and the physical proximity, but if Wolfwood is at all bothered by it, he certainly doesn't speak up.

Not until they reach the outskirts of the nearest town anyway, where the bike comes to a slowing throttle and he tilts the heavy thing so his foot can reach the ground, the pounds of weight nothing in his hands. ]

Get off, we're here and you're hot.

[ NOW he complains, sort of. ]

Where's this store he wants us to get to?

[ Yeah about an hour or so on bike should be enough. They can easily return to the colony without needing to stay over.

These two freaks really are used to the desert despite what they normally wear. Vash mostly stays in that position, sometimes with his eyes closed, and he clings on a little longer with his head pressed against Wolfwood's shoulder... Mumbling. ]

There's a boutique.

[ Wolfwood's waist is free as Vash hops off the bike, stretching his arm above his head and moving his shoulders back. His ass is flat so sitting for so long did not do anything to it.

Arms return to his side, with one hand fishing the note in his pocket. ]

[ He just repeats the word like he's wondering who the hell names these kinds of things. Looking around... squinting. ]

Somewhere over there?

[ Pointing to an alley full of market shops that look about right? It's got that cafe street, boutique-y energy to it. The rare sight of flora!! Not much, and mostly very desert things, but the planet really is changing very slowly. ]

That looks like a good start! We can pick up a pastry on the way, too.

[ And, if anything, Vash will ask a local for directions if they can't find it on their own. Come, come, Wolfwood. He walks into this quaint little district. ]

[ Carbs in general though by all means, he is not giving that shit up. He loves noodles. He's going to traipse after Vash... I have decided that the Punisher has stayed home today so he's a bit bare, though given how he is, never not strapped with a gun on his person just in case. But it is a bit unique to see him not in the suit and without cross. He truly is on an off-day. ]

What'd he want -- a tablecloth?

Sometimes that's all we can afford... What else would we eat? I guess there's boiled potatoes. Fries are getting expensive.

[ They're not even suffering from being poor, actually... But it's hard to shake off the mindset. They pass by a cafe, then a small little library, and some other boutiques (Vash and Wolfwood would probably think they're just small clothing stores). ]

Yeah, but a bunch of them for the wedding. [ He peeks over his shoulder when he hears Wolfwood trailing after him. A moment of silence. ] It's weird to see you like this.

[ LIKE WHAT ]

Don't knock boiled potatoes.

[ Just a touch of salt and that shit rocks dude. He raises a brow though as they're passing by. ]

He didn't specify what kind, did he... can we just grab any?

Boiled potatoes aren't bad, but imagine having them all the time. [ Mush all the time? Even though Vash would not complain if it comes down to it. He would eat those potatoes if it means he'll live another day. ] Don't worry about the tablecloths, he showed me some before and told me which one he wanted from that.

[ Vash has very selective memory where he's quick to forget and let things pass, but then remembers in such vivid detail. Can't be me and that's probably for the best.

Squinting, he tries to find the words. ]

Put some salt and pepper on it. Tabasco if that gets borin'. Iunno, get creative.

[ Pausing and looking. ]

[ Whether No Man's Land has real spice, I do not know, but Vash can handle it well enough. He doesn't have the taste for it, though. ]
