[ ”Loathe” is an interesting word. He’s noticed the way Goro looks at him in short, masked instances. Sometimes he can discern the malice and envy in his eyes yet other times there’s an indescribable fire. He has always liked that look, even if it would bore holes into the back of his skull.

Once in a while, he wonders if Goro harbors anything else for him, but day by day Akira unravels the fault in his perception. It’s distorted—tinted. The truth is he wishes Goro would look at him that way.
