And then he'd exclaim he missed his shift when they're riding the desert on Wolfwood's motorcycle. They're just two clowns. ]
I won't be late! I still have—[ He looks at the clock and his eyes widen incredibly wide. That tells an obvious story, likewise how quickly he shoves this food into his mouth despite Wolfwood warning him. For the fruit plate, he also takes like... four strawberries.
[ He rolls his eyes when Vash has his mini-freakout over the time because honestly? This is normal. This happens all of the time, or at least, certainly has the aura of happening all the time, so he's able to continue on unfazed. Wolfwood doesn't have pressing plans so he continues to munch away on his toast while Vash grabs food on the go and bails away.
And then he gets his little peck and he freezes up a bit in surprise, where that moment of shock is already enough for Vash to practically leave a cloud outline of him cartoonishly dashing out the door. Wolfwood can only grumble as he tries to focus back on finishing everything Vash laid out for the both of them, grumbling 'Fucker...' under his breath where the other can't hear him.
He'll have his fill and store away anything that seems like it could last for a few hours in their inn room in case they want a small bite before whatever else they do tonight. It is after this, and Wolfwood is out the door with his cross hoisted over his back, staring out the inn entrance and out into the town streets that he also realises that Vash didn't give him directions to the bakery.

It's okay though, it's as easy as asking nearby people where the bakery... bakeries? in the town are, and eventually he'll hit it up. Maybe?! The way he has to scout around town and subtly check out store windows, not lingering long enough to come off as a weirdo. It's not like he can just hang out during the entirety of Vash's shift anyway though so he'll do his own thing, maybe buy a back-up shirt at the nearby mom-and-pop-shop tailors because it's always wise to have multiple on the road. Ask for directions to the nearest cities at the local bar so he can store that knowledge away for later when they're ready to move on, ask what's nice and out there.
He'll finally find the right bakery in the early afternoon, entering and asking the front if 'Val' is in today. ]
[ I am sleepy so you get the shortest tag back. Vash was working quite hard in the bakery laminating the dough and butter. Keeping the butter cold when they live in a dessert is a challenge, but the conditions of the kitchen make it feasible. Bakery. Smells good. Good yeast.
The employee at register confirms that Vash is here and to give them a second to get him. It doesn't take long before he comes out of a different door in the bakery and offers a little wave to Wolfwood.
