[ I am going to assume that Kaveh invited them over and thanks to whatever freaky genshin descender shit and trigun space dimension warping got them here! Wolfwood and Vash arrived sometime earlier with their luggage (packing light, just a large duffel-sized bag for both of them), now hanging around in the living room area of Alhaitham's humble home while the man is likely just about to come home from his temporary grand sage duties.

Do they even have a living room? Or do they only have studies and libraries in this nerd house? Anyway, Wolfwood and Vash are chilling on a couch together, sitting like two dudes would, likely. I can only speak for Vash who is at least taking less space with legs crossed, but an arm hangs wide over the sofa's backrest which defeats that entirely. They're just two black dogs on a couch. ]

Nice digs, Kaveh! You guys even have a kitchen.

Anyway, yes, Kaveh invited them over, he absolutely calls and texts them all the time because he would rather seem needy and annoying and know they're ALIVE than give in to social anxiety and just never hear from them again. He's too glad to see them to even bother sneaking back into the house, so the NPC lady who constantly sweeps outside is going to know that he lives here now, but he will just have to deal with that... (She already knew this)

Alhaitham's house certainly wasn't included in any of the VR Room simulations he showed either of them, so it'll be new to both of them--but there's no shortage of places to sit and stuff to look at, at least. Even though this is absolutely a nerd house for nerds. Who needs this many books?! There's a library like 20 feet away. But at least there are other things too, like instruments and cards with colorful dice and... random, out-of-place, ugly and odd-looking trinkets? Why.]

It's the trade-off for having to pay for food again, unfortunately. [But his tone is light as he heads over towards said kitchen!!] Can I get you something to drink? Tea, wine? I picked up some fresh Zaytun Peaches yesterday, if you'd rather something sweet.

Vash has no idea of Kaveh's sneaking into the house escapades... So he can't needle him about it. Turning around on the sofa, he watches Kaveh head into the kitchen. Big blue puppy dog eyes are happening. ]

Some wine sounds good! And some water. [ So these desert hooligans don't get dehydrated. ] Are Zaytun Peaches different from regular peaches?

I'd offer to send you back with some recipes, but I'm not sure how well they'd translate in terms of ingredients...

[Can plants grow stuff from other worlds???? Even if they can, they probably shouldn't be used for exotic delicacies...

I'm sure we can figure it out! If we stay anywhere with a kitchen... Not all inns are open to letting us use theirs. For ingredients, things are a little better as of late thanks to some technological advancements.

In that case, let's do a trade! Shenhe mentioned she wanted to learn how to make milkshakes, and she mentioned liking donuts, too--oh, maybe I can ask Nahida if there are any recipes she'd like, as well.

[Food swap!! Exciting!!! Mostly because it's nice to be able to do this--something so casual and mundane. It's still kind of refreshing, even though they've been home for a bit.

After he pours the wine, Kaveh leaves the bottle on the table and dips back into the kitchen--when he comes back, he's got a zaytun peach, which he hands to Vash.]

[ This place... is so big. Wolfwood is comfortably squashed on the couch with Vash, expression straight as they just wait. He is not smoking because he is being somewhat polite since Genshin universe seems a bit more strict about it than some mega-sandy boonies.

It's so very green and bright in here, and No Man's Land is only one of those things. ]

Didn't know the place you were stayin' was this huge.

I think this might be normal... The other houses looked about the same size when we were walking down the street.

[ at some point mid-conversation, there will be the scratching against the lock of the front door, then a click, then a creak as the door comes open and closed. alhaitham walks inside with a small stack of books held against his hip, though he quickly comes to a halt as he considers the living room—and the strangers lounging on the divans. ]

... Right. [ he sets the small stack of books on one of the benches near the door, because that's where books go, of course. into the living room he goes. ] Kaveh said his guests would be arriving today.

[ Vash rudely POINTS at the new addition to the hangout— ]

It's that dude from your memory! [ Kaveh's memory. ] The one where you picked up the diadem!

[ This may be too telling of Vash's knowledge of the other man... Only stories from Kaveh about how annoying he is, then also their broken friendship, yet nothing else. There's some surprise because he didn't expect to recognize Alhaitham at all. ]

[ help. alhaitham just. stops and looks at him like this. he'll wait for vash to remember that pointing is rude, if he ever does. ]

[ He stops pointing not because it's rude, but because it's a weird pose to hold for too long. Sometimes, you're old and incorrigible to a fault, disrespectful and free.

That hand offers a small wave, though, undeterred by Alhaitham's steel countenance. ]

[HE'S HERE... THE MAN HIMSELF. Wouldn't it be funny if this wasn't Alhaitham's house and Kaveh was equally surprised. But no, he just glances over and goes back to putting stuff on the table.]
